ProPhoenix provides SMS messaging capabilities to participating public safety agencies using the ProPhoenix CAD platform. SMS messaging is used solely to support active emergency and non-emergency service requests.
Participating agencies obtain the citizen’s explicit verbal consent before sending any SMS message. Consent is obtained during a 911 or non-emergency service call when SMS communication is needed to assist with the active incident.
SMS messages may include: • Requests for location information • Requests for photos or videos • Incident status updates • Other communications necessary to assist emergency responders
Mobile phone numbers are used only for communications related to the active incident for which consent was provided.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties except as necessary to provide the requested messaging service or as required by law.
Message frequency varies depending on the active incident.
